Ingredients

1/4 c. soft butter or margarine
unsweetened chocolate squares, cut in pieces or 2 envelopes no-melt unsweetened chocolate
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
??? tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Melt butter and chocolate in top of double boiler.
Remove from heat; cool.
Cream chocolate mixture, sugar and salt thoroughly in large mixing bowl.
Beat egg into creamed mixture. Add extract.
Sift together flour and baking powder.
Add parts of flour mixture and milk alternately to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
Work nuts into batter.
