Ingredients

1/2 lb. margarine
3 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 Tbsp. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. bourbon
2 tsp. soda
6 c. cake flour
1 c. cake flour to dredge fruit
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. candied pineapple
1 lb. light raisins
2 qt. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cake spice
2 tsp. allspice
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar.
Add eggs, one by one, beating well.
Add flour and spice to mixture.
Mix soda and buttermilk and stir until fluffy.
Add to batter.
Add vanilla and bourbon. Pour over fruit.
Drop on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes, then lower heat to 300\u00b0 or 325\u00b0.
