Ingredients

4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
7 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream together butter, brown sugar and eggs.
Add cream of tartar, then flour.
Dough will be stiff.
Make in 4 to six rolls in waxed paper.
Refrigerate overnight; slice in 3/8-inch slices. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes; do not overbake.
