Ingredients

1 c. granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
4 Tbsp. sweet butter (unsalted)
4 Tbsp. orange juice
Preparation

Cream sugar, eggs and butter with electric mixer until light in color.
Add all remaining ingredients, blend on low speed, scraping down sides of bowl several times.
The dough is sticky in appearance.
Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes.
Cookies will have a puffed surface and the edges will be lightly browned when done. Cool slightly on cookie sheet, then remove.
Ice while warm for a glazed look or cool for a regular iced look.
