Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (half butter or margarine), softened
    1/2 c. creamy or chunk style peanut butter
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly shortening, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg. Blend in the remaining ingredients.
    Cover and chill about 1 hour. Heat oven to 375\u00b0. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and place them 3 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Dip a fork in flour or sugar and press on each ball in a crisscross pattern to flatten to about 2 inches.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not hard.
    Immediately remove the cookies from the baking sheet.
    Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
