Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix sugars, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
Measure flour by dip-level-pour method.
Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
Stir in; add nuts.
Form into balls (1 level tablespoon).
Place on ungreased sheet.
Flatten with bottom of greased glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
