Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk or 1 Tbsp. vinegar plus milk to equal 1 c.
1/2 c. chopped nuts, lightly floured
1 1/2 c. dates, cut in small pieces
Preparation

Cream butter and brown sugar; add eggs, beating well.
Combine flour, soda and salt and add alternately with milk.
Stir in nuts and dates, mixing thoroughly.
Spoon into 2 well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans or five 16-ounce cans.
Bake loaves in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for
60 minutes and cans in a 325\u00b0 oven for 60 to 70 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool on rack for 10 minutes.
Turn out of pans and continue cooling on rack.
Makes 2 loaves.
