Scotch Shortbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly the butter and
    sugar.
    Stir
    in
    flour. Mix well with hands.
    Separate and
    add
    coloring, if desired. Chill dough.
    Roll out and cut into
    desired shapes.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
    (The tops do not brown during baking nor does the shape of the cookies change.) Bake at 300\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
