Batter (Spoon) Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 heaping tsp. baking powder
    2 c. milk (approximately)
    1 or 2 eggs
    1 c. boiling water (approximately)
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 Tbsp. melted lard
Preparation
    Mix meal, salt and baking powder.
    Add egg, beaten lightly, sweet milk and enough boiling water to make a very thin batter. Add butter and lard.
    Put in well-greased baking dish; cook for 30 to 40 minutes in moderate oven (375\u00b0).
    Serves 6.
