Banana-Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. bananas, mashed
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2/3 c. buttermilk
2/3 c. nuts
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Stir in shortening until softened.
Add bananas and half of buttermilk; mix until flour is damp.
Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
Add rest of buttermilk and eggs.
Beat 2 more minutes.
Add nuts and stir.
Bake in greased or paper-lined pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes, until done.
Cool 10 minutes.
It may be topped with whipped cream and sliced bananas.
