Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2/3 c. shortening, melted
    1 c. molasses
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    1 egg, well beaten
Preparation
    Sift flour; measure.
    Add baking powder, salt, soda, ginger and cinnamon.
    Sift again.
    Combine melted shortening, molasses and warm water.
    Add well beaten egg and blend well.
    Add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
    Chill.
    Roll out on a lightly floured board to 1/3-inch thickness and cut with a round cookie cutter.
    Place on a greased baking sheet.
    Bake in a moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 15 to 18 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
