Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. molasses
1/4 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. warm tea water
2 tsp. soda
2 3/4 c. flour
Preparation

Beat eggs.
Add molasses and continue beating.
Add shortening and soda, dissolved in warm tea.
Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well.
Chill for several hours.
Roll 1/4-inch thick.
Cut and bake 10 to 12 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
