Ingredients

1 c. soft oleo or butter
1/2 c. sugar (granulated or confectioners)
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. finely chopped pecans
15 candied or maraschino cherries
Preparation

Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add salt, vanilla, flour and nuts.
Blend well.
Refrigerate until easy to handle.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten slightly with a fork.
Press 1/2 candied or maraschino cherry in each.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
