Carrot Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cold water
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. raisins
2 c. grated carrots
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 unbeaten egg
1 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
-
Mix sugar, water, shortening, raisins, carrots, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool (approximately 1 hour).
