Great Grandma'S Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
    1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas (4 to 6)
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream together margarine and sugar, adding sugar gradually. Blend in the bananas, eggs and vanilla.
    Add sifted mixture to the creamed butter/sugar combination alternately with the buttermilk until all is well blended.
    Add nuts, if desired.
    Bake in 2 (9 x 5 x 3-inch) loaf pans at 350\u00b0 for about 1 1/2 hours.
    Makes 2 loaves.
