Ingredients

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
sugar for decorating
Preparation

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat sugar and margarine at medium speed until light and fluffy.
Beat in molasses and egg until well combined.
Gradually add flour mixture and beat until well blended.
Cover and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Form dough into 1-inch balls.
Roll each in sugar, place on greased cookie sheet about 2-inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown.
