Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 pkg. dates
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. hot water
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Add melted shortening to dates.
Add sugar and hot water; let cool.
Beat egg and add to mixture.
Sift together the flour, soda and salt.
Add to the mixture.
Stir well and add molasses. Stir well and add nuts.
Pour into greased loaf pan.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
