Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation

Cream butter.
Add sugar and vanilla; continue beating until light.
Beat eggs and add to butter mixture; blend well.
Sift flour, measure, sift with salt and add to dough using enough flour to make dough stiff.
Chill 20 to 30 minutes.
Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut with cookie cutter and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in 400\u00b0 oven for approximately 10 minutes. Cookies may be sprinkled with sugar before baking.
Remove from cookie sheet to cool.
