Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Mix together the first four ingredients.
Stir in the rest. Chill at least an hour.
Roll into balls; dip in sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
