Cherry Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    12 to 14 chopped maraschino cherries
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. maraschino cherry juice
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cut in shortening, then add cherries and nuts.
    Combine liquid ingredients.
    Add liquid to dry ingredients.
    Stir only until flour is moistened.
    Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
