Thumbprint Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 c. soft butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour (self-rising)
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 c. finely chopped pecans
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix sugar, butter, salt and vanilla. Stir flour and pecans into the sugar mixture.
    Mix well.
    Chill at least an hour.
    Shape dough into small balls.
    Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Place thumb gently in center of each ball.
    Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool. Fill thumbprints with jelly or icing.
    Makes about 60 cookies.
