Ingredients

2 sticks softened butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. In large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in flour and baking powder until well blended. Divide into 4 pieces. Wrap each in plastic and let cool about 1 hour in refrigerator or until firm. On lightly floured area, roll out dough with floured rolling pin about 1-inch. Cut out shapes. Bake 10 to 12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Cool and decorate.
