Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. milk
    6 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 heaping tsp. soda
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and soda 3 times.
    Mix all ingredients.
    Roll on floured board.
    Cut with cutter.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    I spray cookie sheets.
    Drop dough by teaspoonful on cookie sheet.
    Using flat-bottomed cup or glass, dip the cup in saucer of sugar, \"stamping\" each cookie \"lump\" flat.
    Dip again. \"Stamp\" another cookie (quicker than rolling).
    Allow dough to sit about 20 minutes before baking.
    Cookies raise nicer.
    Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 340\u00b0 or store; freeze well between wax paper (so they don't stick together).
