Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar, added gradually
2 eggs, well beaten with fork
Preparation

Sift flour and measure.
Put into sifter and add cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Sift and set aside.
