Famous Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 c. water
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of water.
    Sift together flour, salt and sugar.
    Cut in shortening.
    Mix and pour yeast mixture into flour.
    Add beaten egg and mix.
    Add enough flour to form a dough, but do not make too stiff.
    Roll out rolls; cut into circles with cutter.
    Dip each circle into melted butter, coating both sides. Fold over and place in pan, touching.
    Let rise 1 1/4 hours.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
