Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt shortening and add to all ingredients in large bowl; mix well. Chill for 3 hours. Form into balls, roll in sugar. Bake in batches at 375\u00b0 for 8-10 minutes.
