Navajo Fry Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups plain all purpose flour
    1/2 cup instant non-fat dry milk (powder)
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 Tbsp shortening
    3/4 cups warm water
    cooking oil
Preparation
    Stir together flour, milk powder, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Stir in water to make dough soft.
    Turn out onto floured surface.
    Knead to smooth ball.
    Divide into eight balls.
    Cover and let rest ten minutes.
    Turn out onto floured surfaces.
    Roll each ball into six inch circles.
    Fry one at a time in deep, hot, cooking oil until golden brown, turning once.
    Drain and serve hot.
