Nuna'S Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. raisins
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. caraway seeds
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Blend together flour and shortening. Add sugar, salt, baking powder, seeds and raisins. Beat egg with milk. Add to make a soft dough. Mix well. Turn out onto a floured board. Knead lightly. Form into 2 or 3 round loaves and place on greased and floured pie pan. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 5 minutes. Reduce to 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Reduce to 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool on wire rack. Tastes better served 1 to 2 days later. Store at room temperature in a tin or wrapped in waxed paper.
