Moravian Sugar Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    2 eggs
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 c. hot mashed potatoes (may use instant)
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 stick butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk or cream
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar and salt; stir in softened butter.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Dissolve yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar in 1 cup warm water.
    Add to egg mixture.
    Mix well.
    Add mashed potatoes.
    This batter should be thicker than cake batter but pourable.
    Add a little water if necessary.
    Allow to rise in mixing bowl until double, 1 to 2 hours.
    Stir down gently.
    Pour into a 17 x 11-inch greased pan.
    Let rise again.
    Top with brown sugar and cinnamon; dot with butter.
    Pinch gently with fingers.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    While cooling, pour mix of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup milk or cream over cake.
