Peppermint Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 3/4 c. all purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. crushed peppermint candies
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars.
    Add the eggs, one at a time.
    Beat in vanilla and stir in dry ingredients.
    Stir in crushed candies.
    Shape into a 15 inch roll; wrap in plastic wrap and put in refrigerator for 4 hours.
    Unwrap and cut into 1/8 slices.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets and bake at 375\u00b0 for 6-8 minutes.
    Remove and cool.
