Cranberry Fruit-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
3/4 c. orange juice
1 well beaten egg
1 c. fresh or frozen chopped cranberries
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda.
Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg; mix until well blended.
Stir in cranberries and nuts.
Turn into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan, greased on bottom only.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
