Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine or shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. persimmon pulp (approximately 2 to 3)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts
Preparation

Beat margarine or shortening until creamy.
Add sugar, eggs and persimmon pulp.
Add flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Blend.
Add nuts last.
Drop on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
These cookies stay moist and soft.
