Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (if desired)
Preparation

Thoroughly mix shortening, egg, sugar, sour cream and vanilla.
Then add flour, salt, soda and nutmeg that have been sifted together.
Let dough chill 1 hour in refrigerator.
When chilled roll out and cut out with your favorite cutters.
Put on aluminum foil lined cookie sheet and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly brown around edges.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
