Ingredients

1 c. shortening (1/2 oleo and 1/2 shortening)
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. cold water
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses, then add dry ingredients and cold water. Mix well.
Put in refrigerator to chill.
Roll out and cut with large cookie cutter.
Frost with powdered sugar icing.
