Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Mix as for plain cake.
Add just enough milk to make the dough stiff enough to roll.
Chill dough.
Roll out in portions. Sprinkle on some sugar.
Cut into cookie shapes.
Bake 8 to 12 minutes at 350\u00b0.
