Confetti Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. sage
1 tsp. marjoram
1 1/2 c. onions
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1 tsp. chopped green pepper
1 tsp. chopped pimento
1/4 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, sugar, thyme, sage and marjoram.
Add corn meal and stir to blend.
Saute onions, celery, green pepper and pimento in shortening.
To flour mixture, add sauteed vegetables with shortening, eggs and milk.
Stir until well blended.
Pour into well-greased 9-inch square pan.
Bake in hot 400\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
