Ingredients

2 3/4 c. unsifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar, mixed with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

In a small bowl, mix the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar; beat in eggs. Gradually stir in the flour mixture.
Using 1 level tablespoon of the dough for each, roll into balls.
Dip in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Place a few inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
