Welsh Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. flour
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. salt
    6 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. currants or raisins
    1/2 lb. lard
    1/2 lb. margarine
    3/4 c. milk
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients;
    blend margarine and lard into dry ingredients as you
    would
    for
    pie
    crust.
    Add currants. Make a well in the
    center;
    add beaten eggs and milk to well. Form a ball of dough.
    When
    all
    the dough has formed and the bowl is clean, break
    off
    smaller pieces and roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut in circles
    and
    fry
    on
    electric
    griddle at 300\u00b0.
    Fry on one side
    for
    3 minutes, then flip once and fry until brown. Cool on racks.
    Bag in plastic.
    Makes 6 dozen.
