Date And Nut Chews(Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo
    1 c. dates, finely cut
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    2/3 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Beat until light the eggs, salt and almond extract.
    Gradually beat in sugar and Karo syrup.
    Add dates and nuts; beat well. Fold in sifted flour.
    Pour into 2 (8-inch) cake pans.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    While still hot, cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.
    Shape at once into small balls; roll in powdered sugar.
    The dates are very hot, so it helps to cover your hands with a thin coat of butter before shaping the balls. Store cookies in an airtight container.
