Cranberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
juice of 1 orange
chopped rind of 1 orange
2 Tbsp. shortening
boiling water
1 egg
1 c. chopped cranberries
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
Sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Put orange juice and grated rind into a large measuring cup.
Add shortening.
Then pour boiling water up to the 3/4 mark in the measuring cup.
Lightly beat 1 egg and add to dry ingredients.
Add liquid ingredients and stir.
Mix in cranberries and nuts.
Bake 1 hour.
Makes 2 loaves.
