Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 small pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream sugars, butter, Crisco, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into sugar mixture.
Add oatmeal, chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Yield: approximately 8 to 9 dozen.
