Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Chill dough several hours. Roll out small portions on lightly floured board to 1/8-inch. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes until light browned. Cool on racks. Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
