Apricot Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. (6 oz.) pkg. dried apricots
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. orange juice
2 c. plain flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Cover apricots with warm water and soak 30 minutes.
Drain and cut into 1/4-inch pieces.
Blend sugar, butter and egg.
Add water and orange juice.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to liquids.
Beat until smooth.
Add apricots and nuts.
Blend thoroughly.
Pour into greased loaf pan which has been lined with wax paper.
Let mixture stand for 20 minutes.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 to 65 minutes.
Cool and remove from pan.
This recipe doubles easily to make 2 loaves.
