Ingredients

1 c. oleo
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
4 c. flour
any thick fruit filling (apricot or raisin is best)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs.
Add dry and liquid ingredients alternately.
Drop by tablespoon on cookie sheet.
Put on 1 teaspoon of filling and cover top with 1 teaspoon of cookie mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen approximately.
