Ingredients

3 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. milk
Preparation

Measure flour; add baking powder and salt and sift again. Cream shortening; add sugar gradually.
Cream well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
Add vanilla and flour alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
Chill overnight.
Roll 1/8-inch thick.
Cut into desired shapes.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 minutes or until done.
Yields 6 dozen medium size cookies.
