Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. melted shortening
    3 well beaten egg yolks
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    3 stiffly beaten egg whites
Preparation
    Cook cornmeal and 2 cups milk until consistency of mush. Remove from heat.
    Add salt, baking powder, shortening and 1 cup milk.
    Add egg yolks and fold in egg whites.
    Bake in greased 2 quart baking dish at 325\u00b0 for one hour.
