Lemon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. sugar and 3 Tbsp. lemon juice (after baking)
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs
and lemon peel. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add alternately with milk.
Fold in nuts.
Pour into greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until lightly brown (check in 45 minutes).
Remove. Dissolve the 1/3 cup sugar in the lemon juice.
Pour over the bread.
Let stand for 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool.
