Soft Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. melted shortening
    2 c. molasses
    3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
    1 c. boiling water and 4 level tsp. soda, mixed
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over soda and mix in the remaining ingredients and enough flour to handle.
    May be dropped or rolled out.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
