Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. melted butter
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon baking soda over 1 cup chopped dates. Cover with 1 cup boiling water and set aside.
Mix together 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon melted butter.
Add nuts, egg and salt and mix well.
Add flour and mix.
Add date mixture and vanilla.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
