Orange Date-Nut Bread(Yields 1 Loaf) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 orange
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped dates
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
Preparation
    Quarter orange; remove peel.
    Scrape white membrane from inside of peel; cut peel in thin strips and chop to make 2/3 cup.
    In boiling water, cook peel until tender; drain and dry.
    Into mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add the peel, dates, sugar and nuts; mix well.
    Combine eggs, milk and melted butter or margarine; stir in flour mixture just until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Pour batter into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 50 to 60 minutes or until done.
    Remove from pan; cool before slicing.
